인간은 오래전부터 ‘영원’이라는 개념을 통해 존재의 본질과 시간의 무한함에 대해 성찰해 왔습니다. 영원함은 단순히 끝나지 않는 시간을 의미하는 것이 아니라, 변화와 소멸을 넘어 삶과 의미가 지속되는 상태를 뜻하는 보다 포괄적인 개념입니다. 이와 함께 우리는 보이지 않는 ‘영혼’의 존재에 대하여 끊임없이 물음을 던져왔습니다. 육체로는 감지할 수 없지만, 내면 깊숙이 자리한 ‘영혼’은 개인의 정체성과 기억, 감정, 그리고 삶의 의미를 담아내는 실체로 이해할 수 있습니다. 예술과 ,종교 체험을 통해 영혼의 그림자는 여러 형태로 표현되며, 각 개인의 삶과 인류 문화에 깊이 뿌리 내려 영원의 감각을 불러일으킵니다. 또한, 눈에 보이지 않는 영혼의 존재를 경험적으로 탐색하는 수단으로 예술이 중요한 역할을 합니다. 빛과 그림자, 소리와 공간, 감정의 표현을 통해 관람자는 물리적 실체 너머에 있는 ‘영원한 무엇’을 느끼게 됩니다. 그렇게 우리는 눈에 보이지 않는 힘과 존재들을 감지하고, 자신의 존재가 시간과 세계를 넘어 이어진다는 깊은 위안을 얻습니다. 궁극적으로 인간 존재의 신비와 아름다움을 이해하고, 그삶 의미를 찾아가는 여정이 되도록 진정성있는 작업을 선보이고자 노력하고 있습니다.

Artist's Note:   Humanity has long engaged in profound reflection on the concept of “eternity” as a means to fathom the essence of existence and the infinite nature of time. Eternity, however, transcends the mere continuity of unending temporal duration; it embodies a more inclusive and nuanced notion wherein life and meaning persist beyond the flux of change and the cessation of existence. Concomitantly, the existence of the intangible “soul” has persistently posed a profound philosophical inquiry. Although imperceptible through the corporeal senses, the soul is apprehended as an ontological reality that encompasses an individual’s identity, memory, emotion, and the profound significance imbued in life itself. Artistic and religious experiences vividly manifest the shadow or imprint of the soul in diverse forms, embedding themselves deeply within individual lives and collective human cultures, thereby evoking a palpable sense of the eternal. Through modalities such as light and shadow, sound and spatiality, and the expressive conveyance of emotion, art enables the observer to encounter an “eternal something” that transcends physical substance. In this manner, we attune ourselves to unseen forces and presences, finding profound solace in the recognition that our existence endures beyond the confines of time and the material world. Ultimately, it is through sincere and authentic artistic endeavor that we strive to illuminate the mystery and beauty intrinsic to human existence and to embark on an ongoing journey toward discovering life’s deeper meaning.

I graduated from the College of Fine Arts at Kookmin University, majoring in Fine Arts. During my undergraduate studies, I pursued not only fine arts but also contemporary and classical philosophy as well as critical theory, which deepened my interest in social issues and enriched my humanistic insights. This multidisciplinary background has honed my ability to analyze complex and layered industrial and corporate environments, and strengthened my communication skills to deliver logical and persuasive reports and presentations clearly. Throughout university, I focused on developing critical thinking skills that enabled me to penetrate the essence of problems and anticipate future trends. After graduation, I have continued engaging in creative practices that resonate with the public, including media art, pop art merchandising, and practical experience in the fashion design industry. In the fashion sector, I gained firsthand experience analyzing industry structures and financial markets, effectively integrating humanistic perspectives with real-world practices to proactively respond to rapidly changing environments. Currently, I am deeply interested in exploring the convergence of architecture and art, with a particular focus on spatial experience and spatiality. I plan to actively participate in architectural art projects and art editions that harmonize spatial and sculptural aesthetics to communicate meaningfully with the public. In this process, I place great emphasis on sustainability, aesthetic completeness, and technical refinement, aiming for my works to positively impact both the environment and residents. Building on my accumulated insights, practical experience, and critical thinking abilities, I have dedicated myself to ensuring that the voices of socially vulnerable groups are reflected not only through cultural and artistic expressions but also within policies and social systems.
